Organized entry

Last week I showed our new foyer refresh , today I will like to bring you into how I organize this space to function for our family's needs.

I wanted to keep the top functional but less clutter . I stared by removing the big metal tray I used to have under the mirror and exchange I brought in this little box that has the metal trimming I like plus a beautiful agate gem on top . Like that  by giving it some character and that pop of color . The rest I have is some flowers to soften the space as well a small vase {cup}to hold some pens for those last minutes notes.  A season picture frame for a touch of personality I want people to still know that actual people live in this house and of course a great smelling candle for also that pop of car as warmth .

This small glass box holds by everyday items I need before getting out of the house like for example my keys and small wallet.

This drawer still gives me a bit of anxiety because there is a lot of going on but is all what we need . From extra pencils, tapes ,note cards ,small note pad, my check book {who knows} , extra candles , air freshener , lighter , lotion , body spray , boogie wipes , regular wipes , sunglasses ,headphones , head band  , headache pills {it has come on handy more than once } , q tips ,lip care , extra chargers , tape measure and extra small tools .

Shoe storage ; to be honest with you this unit is very small and it does not hold all our shoes but it does hold our day to day shoes {some of my tennis shoes stay here but the more "fancy ones" are located in my closet .}

The boys every day shoes fit perfectly .

Don't you have a daughter ? you might ask , yes we do she is still small and her shoes are tiny and they don't fit in this cabinet properly so I gave her her own spot . This two baskets work perfectly for her day to day shoes{like her mamma she also has a "fancy shoe storage " in her closet} .

 Also I like to put a small basket next to the stairs for those items that wonder upstairs from the playroom that have to be Brough back down at some point of the day .

Faux marble desk

Happy Monday y'all !..Since my hubs made the X desk I've had a little tickle inside of me that it needed more of stone look i dont know why !! but i just did and after browsing in that little addicted site called Pinterest i found many cool and amazing projects done with contact paper that simulate stone ! say what ! ??! .So after the conclusion of about 30 pins of marble contact paper i decided that it was the only route to take . So i ordered !! at first i was a bit spectacle about faux marble paper but when i got the rolls i just couldn't believe the quality and feel to it it was just insane how look a like to real marble it is not counting the soft feeling of it. 

At first i was going at fit nuts because it was my first time using contact paper on a peace of furniture and i really didn't want to mess up but also to my surprise was very easy to use as well as if i see any imperfection witch trust me i did {ocd in me cant help it} it was very easy to peal and stick back on without a problem .

For their bubbles i have this spatulas i got a while back from home depot . the come 3 in one pack for maybe less than 7 buckaroos and even that they are plastic they are very strong and they do the job wonderfully {not a single air bubble was left thanks to my handy handy spatula machine }

And here is the final product !! what y'all think?? .. personably i am in love with it . it has the feel of stone as well as the shine  couldn't heart it more if i could .

The sides where a bit tricky for me but i think i got the hang of it after couple times i had to unstick it and stick it back up ..{not at all frustrating }

Inside my drawers (desk)

Yesterday i shares how we made my awesome X desk  and today i would like to share how i organize the drawers so far . To this there is not much magic or thinking i just used what i had in hand and i only put in what i need almost on a day basis so it won't clutter the little space i had . All the other things are in the closet i would like to call the craft closet  this is an unfinished closet like most of the downstairs of our current rental that i use to store a lot of office , crafts and decor things but more about that later .. back to the drawer situation .

For starers the two drawers on the size are 18inL x 10inW and the center is 18inL x 25inW .to me they are pretty good size drawers also they all have a hight  of 4 1/2in that also was sufficient for me .

Now lets take a peek inside ..

I stared by laying some wrapping paper just like i did to the acrylic tray ..

Next step was to organize everything according to my needs .

I got some acrylic organizers at the dollar spot at target that fit like a ring they where exactly what i needed and without spending a fortune .

On the left drawer u put all the things i use the most with my camera ,computer and so on .. An extra lens some lens covers extra memory cards another little digital camera for little things extra address labels and stamps and some batteries and chargers

Middle drawer thats where i keep my most important binders , agendas , planners ,labeler {hello my name is Alina and I'm a label-holic}.and some notes pads and sketch pads for inspiration also i recently got a love note from my oldest kid and i keep there close to me .

Since most of my writing and scrap booking and crafts i do on the right side of my table it was only logical to have this drawer here with all i need . like wash tapes ,ruler paper clips , extra label tape, a measuring tape , ruler, magnetic tags , an old iPod with really good music on  and sometimes when i like to exercise my brain i like to play with the pocket IQ test ..

Did you know that they have gold foil label tape now !! i was in heaven when i got it,,!!

Acrylic tray for less

lately I've been working on my office a lot !! among the other 456890234 projects we have {yes I'm exaggerating a bit  haha but any how with that this little 10 minute project was not on the list i post about here but it was something that i needed :0

Couple posts ago  i talked about all the things we were working on well I'm happy to say that we have completed more on each project ... i give you the stats .

We are on our way .... tyne kids bed are almost done we just got to finish the head boards and the mattresses and getting here between today and friday  and thats it .. {doing a happy dance } also I've gotten a few questions via instagram about the china cabinet and well we are still working on since we are waiting on couple things we ordered  and we can continue with it until then we are sanding and painting .

Well back to todays project litary this morning i was sitting in my desk organizing pictures  for a next post about my desk and i tout about doing something with this acrylic "tray" i had on my desk holding my essential things . 

Materials : acrylic photo frame , paper or fabric {what ever you want to use } ,markers or anything to trace with ,tape  scissors .

I got this tray from Michael as well as the wrap paper back in november/december  the tray is not really a tray but a picture frame it was for about 6.99 and the paper about 2.00 .

step 1 and 2 :i measured and cut what i needed .

  After everything was measure twice and cut  time for step 3: i used double adhesive tape and taped the paper to the bottom of the tray {i did this for the reason that in case i want to change it or it gets damage would be very ease it to swap it .}

Step 4: accessorize

Young House Love

friday i received a little package from Home Depot with some of the new line of knobs made my the guys over the awesome now close blog Young House Love ! I've been a fan of them for many years now and i was very exited when i found out that there new line of knobs will be coming to my home depot soon and was planing to buy some just because (sometimes i know to hoard pretty things ) but without me going out of my house this pretty little knobs knocked on my door friday morning  i was exited to do anything with them the fun part was figuring out what to do .. what to do,..

Since lately I've been joggling between the boys room , my office ,and the living room i decided to do something in my office .
My studio /office has been lacking on the hooks department and every time i came home to it i would put my personal bag and my camera bag on the floor ! to me and my mum thats a no no i remember my grams telling me a lady should never put their belongings in the floor . there was honestly more to that saying but it was so long ago i can hardly remember .

Anyhow i knew what to do next i took some scraped wood from a previous project  that i had hanging around in our infinite pit of wood that we hoard in the garage and spray painted with our new toy ( spray paint guns ) .and well this is what i came up with ..

This was a very easy 10 minute project minus the curing time for the paint witch it was very fast may i ad . ..

This drugs are making me crazyyyyyy

ha caught you !! ..this season other than amazing holidays and snow and fun time with the family also brings runny noses and sickness to our home . For the past months everyone in our home has been very sick i mean in bed rapped up like a mummy sick ! and we thank god are just getting over most of it . So like you might imagine we had to pause all projects . but we stared back up yesterday . yayyyy..!!

Today I'm sharing the mess we have make in the linen closet were we keep our medicine and fairs aids during this sick month .. because honestly we didn't care until i got a bit better and my odd kicked back in .. oh what fun was not have it for a little bit.!!


Step 1: realize we were having a problem !

Step2:took everything over our  dinning room table and took everything out of the baskets ..

Step 3: here is were i began the sorting process .. things that i didn't need or what where in the ring spot or even yes expired medication !!! ..

Step4: organize everything and put all back where it support to go .

Step 5: don't forget to toss everything that you took out or put it back where it originally came from .!..

and that is it for this easy organization project .


Ps: sorry for the lighting this linen closet is in the middle of my kids room upstairs and it has no natural lighting at all  i think this is one of the darkest place sin my home .
