A few things

So after been sick for like two weeks with horrible allergies and then a massive cold I spend a lot of time in bed day /and night dreaming about the things I want and we need in our new home . we are pretty much staring form zero .. zero furniture zero everything  .. we only brought in clothes and decor and kitchen stuff and well all we can't live without . Mostly all our furniture stayed behind (actually sold) .

For those who don't know me you might not know that I looooooooooove making list about evrythinggg!!!!! and plans !!! oh how do I love to make list and plans!! I'm the queen at it ! anyhow I stared with the first room in my house and work myself in to the last room . I went in details from paint color to picture frames and so on , then I made my plans for each room ..then I put all the rooms together . Also I included a budget for every room . Witch I know it will be impossible to do all in a year (I'm not a millionaire and I also don't have the time) plus I will also like to make some things to give it a bit of us ..

I will get into a bit more details later on of each room but for now this is what my house looks like in plans since is easier for me to show all the rooms together . In the plans I included furniture and decor of what actually exist in each room at the moment as well as some things that are still to come .




This is the first floor witch includes the two car garage , two story foyer , a half bath, kitchen ,breakfast area, dinning room, formal living room/office(is what we are using it for) and family room . And as well as the stairs going up to second floor.

This is the second floor witch includes Our master bedroom ,bathroom ,walking closet , Youngest boy bedroom , little girl's room , walk in closet , kids bathroom , laundry room , oldest boy bedroom with his sitting area and walk in closet.

Our two youngest kids had the opportunity to pick between the front two bedrooms  while our oldest needed a space for when his friends come over (witch is very often) to have sleep overs and so on also play video games and do his homework since he doesn't need much help while the other two still need mum and dad for homework time  so he got to pick the biggest room other than the master.

This house is very comfortable and spacious but of course I will love to make some changes on some of the layout like adding another room to the downstairs to use as an office instead of the formal living room and make the kitchen a bit bigger (is big now a lot bigger than the last house I just want an island ) bahahha .. will also like to enclose the back patio and make the master shower a bit bigger and do some smalls changes here and there . what can I say I dream a lot .. but hey dreams do come true and while this house is not ours yet soon it will be and then we can star the big changes . For right now ill stick to paint , furniture and decor .

I will be going in more details on each and every room as things progress around here. Right now I'm just trying to survive this massive cold and enjoy my kids being home for fall break ..

The 411

 A month later and I'm still moving !! when is this going to end !!??!!as I cry inside .
So yes , a month later and I still have  a garage full of boxes with no sight of ever getting clean and organize! uh can I just say how much I hateeee moving!!

Good thing is that we are settling down and some of us are no longer leaving of a suitcase we upgrade the suitcases to plastic containers until  we the new dressers delivered  (some time this month) hopefully. Another good thing is that the kiddos are settling good in their new school . Honestly I dint see the day where I could sleep in until 10 but well a month later and that hasn't happen unfortunately I have an internal clock that wakes me up everyday at 5:17 whyyyyyy I ask myself that everyday I just want to sleep till 7 I cry in disappointment .And the good news keep on coming .. I'm going to be going back to work full time very soon and switching time with the hubs he will still be working but his going to be bringing most of his work at home so he could be on call for the kids because well you never know since just this month I've gotten called 3 times because one had a nose bleed and the other two needed a change of clothes just because they had a bit too much fun recess time.

  (I apologize in advance for the pictures your about to see since I forgot to take pictures of the home before moving in because you know I was to busy moving and this are the pictures I found in our oldest cell ) enjoy  lol

In other news we are thinking that for our first project in this new house we wanted to first paint due to that this mustard color we have on the walls are brining me down and can't even talk about the bright pink and the bright blue and yellow in the kids room (every time I go in there I come out with a headache ) I don't know why but I can't take those bright colors anymore I don't know if is something psychological or is nonsense as my husband describes telling me I just want him to do work . Well jokes on him since I'm not letting him paint this time I'm hiring , well ill be hiring from within  (the painter that has done many works for me before) . There is just to much to paint in this house and just the foyer is a 20plus feet job I don't feel comfortable getting or letting my husband get on a ladder .

There is a lot to do in this house before making it a home but little by little due to that we are still not sure if we want to purchase or if we can it all depends on many things that I will later get into so for now we will be painting and bringing some new light fixtures and decorating the space to our liking ,later who knows .

New life

We have move !! I repeat we have moved .! LOL  ...


It was a sudden thing but ill be explaining it on a later day , for now we are still settling down with half of our belongings still in the garage and leaving of suitcases . What can I say from a 2000plus sqft home to a 3000sqft home let just say I've been very tired{lazy} to say the least and I can bring my self to unpack everything as fast as I've done in my previous moves . So for now things will stay the same until kids start school this week  then and only then things will be going back to normal {hopefully}.







For now welcome to our new home ..

Organized entry

Last week I showed our new foyer refresh , today I will like to bring you into how I organize this space to function for our family's needs.

I wanted to keep the top functional but less clutter . I stared by removing the big metal tray I used to have under the mirror and exchange I brought in this little box that has the metal trimming I like plus a beautiful agate gem on top . Like that  by giving it some character and that pop of color . The rest I have is some flowers to soften the space as well a small vase {cup}to hold some pens for those last minutes notes.  A season picture frame for a touch of personality I want people to still know that actual people live in this house and of course a great smelling candle for also that pop of car as warmth .

This small glass box holds by everyday items I need before getting out of the house like for example my keys and small wallet.

This drawer still gives me a bit of anxiety because there is a lot of going on but is all what we need . From extra pencils, tapes ,note cards ,small note pad, my check book {who knows} , extra candles , air freshener , lighter , lotion , body spray , boogie wipes , regular wipes , sunglasses ,headphones , head band  , headache pills {it has come on handy more than once } , q tips ,lip care , extra chargers , tape measure and extra small tools .

Shoe storage ; to be honest with you this unit is very small and it does not hold all our shoes but it does hold our day to day shoes {some of my tennis shoes stay here but the more "fancy ones" are located in my closet .}

The boys every day shoes fit perfectly .

Don't you have a daughter ? you might ask , yes we do she is still small and her shoes are tiny and they don't fit in this cabinet properly so I gave her her own spot . This two baskets work perfectly for her day to day shoes{like her mamma she also has a "fancy shoe storage " in her closet} .

 Also I like to put a small basket next to the stairs for those items that wonder upstairs from the playroom that have to be Brough back down at some point of the day .

Foyer Refresh

Oh yes, is finally here !! imagine my joy when all this was done . It totally needed an updated look ..like I said here ..this where my main inspiration for this new refresh.


It all stared with a must needed declutter and paint job .!!

And here is the after math ... enjoy ..

{So I'm trying this new camera and lens out honestly not my favorite so I think I'm going back to my old one or getting a whole new set.}




This is the new from top of the stairs{living room area}

To me it just seem more airy yes I still have almost the same amount of stuff but the more neutral colors give it the appearance of being a bigger space .

Disclaimer: the pops of pink is because summer is here and I wanted to give it a bit of color . I do change colors within each specific season just to be a bit on the festive side and also because I do still really love a pop of color 

When my previous post about my foyer I had a few people asking about that "how do you have space to walk through with a bench on the to of the stairs blocking the way " My answer to that is that we have way more thank plenty of space I still haven't touch the bench or the wall once since I've had this bench in here . I don't really know why it looks so narrow but it honestly not at all I'm not saying the two people can go though at the same time unless your kids but I can go up with both hands full of shopping bags and not touch the bench or wall without twisting or adjusting my position . So to answer that question there is way enough space and this are the dimensions  {the space there is 44 inches wide and the bench only takes 13in of it so with that said there is enough space .I Hope that helps =).

Oh im so in love with this knobs they are this crystal mercury glass knobs with a vintage Crome design . I wish I could find more but I haven't been that lucky yet , since this a found at HomeGoods one day and I graved them thinking I'm going to need them some day and well I did .I love how different look it gives to a plain dresser it gives it a more expensive look to a pice that it is not . I get so giddy with the small changes that makes a big difference , don't you ??

I love this print my sister got them for me because she saw them on a website and she immediately taught of me . Thank you sis your the best I love them as well they bring also that settle pop of color I wanted in this space.

The bench !! umm do you remember the black and white stripe bench I had well this is it with a new more settle look I still wanted to have a bit of print and fun and I found this amazing curtains at Kohls  a few years back and I had them in storage since I didn't know where to put them so I found a great way to use them by making once of the panel my new bench fabric {the fabric is a a thick durable fabric is also water resistant }.

I stared with wanting this Caitlin Wilson pillows but I as surprise to found out that they discontinue them so after searching high and low with no luck my mum came to the rescue with 4 yards of this beautiful fabric that honestly didn't have a name on she got it from a discount fabric store so I asked her if she count possibly make me some pillows out of them and she happily agreed and made me 2 pillows and my sister the other two . Thank you mum I love my pillows !!

Foyer inspiration

For years I've dreams of having a grand foyer......

 But life normally doesn't work as fast, one day I will have one but for now Im happy and content with what I do have . Yes it might be a bit small but it does the job .


 I will like to share the direction of where I'm trying to take ours right now . I love the aerie feeling of this one and the simplicity of the design.

Simple with a pop of color 

I love bringing in some greenery that will also give it that pop of color yet so simple but oh so elegant

Pink door anyone?? .. I honestly wish I could !! To be honest I don't think I would have a pink door in my entrance but I would put one in my closet or the door to my office closet. This door was the inspiration of one of my pop of colors I wanted to include in ...

Oh do I dream with build ins almost every single day .! every time I ever looked into the plans of our home thats one thing I wanted everywhere ! From the mudroom to the office I want it as many builtins as I could have of course without looking to much * couch couch

I will be working with items that I already have incorporating them into the new design and doing some diy projects as well as a most needed paint job !. so stay tune...

One day at a time

Lately we haven't been doing much around the house ,since things were paused for a little while until we found out if we were getting finally our home or not . Well we are not ! ..for a while now since the whole home deal went down I will later comment on it since is still a bit of a touchy subject in this house . Anyhow I told the hubs if we can start doing some stuff around the house like old times and he gratefully agreed , Imagine my joy to hear that because I've been craving to get my hands in some paint !!


Our first to do list was the foyer ! since thats the first room you see as you walk into our home and well the decor we had there wasn't fitting my style anymore .

                         

As time had progress my style has evolved and I think is for the best since I'm approaching a more less is more kind of mind set and I think it has made my mind other than my home less clutter and thats what I was going for . Im still into colors and all fun things but I want more airy feeling in my home and as well as in my mind. Sometimes when I would walk though my home I will start getting all anxious for no reason  well thats what I thought and after sitting in my leaving room for about an hour thinking of why I was feeling this way realized that I needed a change in my home I needed to bring more calmness to my madness. I love pops of colors here and there but like you can see in my foyer thats how the rest of my home looked very colorful and fun . Don't get me wrong I still love this style but it wasn't fitting my family anymore .

We have grown this past two years I mean my youngest was 3 at the time and now she is 5  and like her we all gotten a bit older and I guess we all have change a lot all for the best I hope . My daughter was very into vibrant colors as well as my boys but they are not like me they like a more calm set of style like muted pinks ,purples, grays,blues and greens . I guess my kids aren't babies anymore ! sad sad I know I would love for them to be babies for ever ! .

Well as I stayed before things have change and they will continue to change until everyone is satisfied and ill be bringing all the changes very soon as we progress of making this house our home until moving time {witch I'm not sure when will that be } .

So far & whats coming

    Is been a while since I've posted anything in here there has been a lot of new things in our life good and bad but most of all good .

             

    1. We are still in the same house {rental} do to a lot of problems with the developers and contractors of the home we where trying to build also we have had a change in job and needed to stay put for a little while .

    2. We are still moving because the owner of this house is still trying to set the house so right now we are in borrow time with him.


    3. Summer stared and all kids are home but soon they will all be going to school yes all 3 of them . Time really flies I can't believe I have 3 school age kids already


  4. Talking about school ill be going to school myself to further my education this year , I'm very exited and scared at the same time


  5. My husband and I will have our 10th year anniversary this October wow times does fly.
