Foyer Refresh

Oh yes, is finally here !! imagine my joy when all this was done . It totally needed an updated look ..like I said here ..this where my main inspiration for this new refresh.


It all stared with a must needed declutter and paint job .!!

And here is the after math ... enjoy ..

{So I'm trying this new camera and lens out honestly not my favorite so I think I'm going back to my old one or getting a whole new set.}




This is the new from top of the stairs{living room area}

To me it just seem more airy yes I still have almost the same amount of stuff but the more neutral colors give it the appearance of being a bigger space .

Disclaimer: the pops of pink is because summer is here and I wanted to give it a bit of color . I do change colors within each specific season just to be a bit on the festive side and also because I do still really love a pop of color 

When my previous post about my foyer I had a few people asking about that "how do you have space to walk through with a bench on the to of the stairs blocking the way " My answer to that is that we have way more thank plenty of space I still haven't touch the bench or the wall once since I've had this bench in here . I don't really know why it looks so narrow but it honestly not at all I'm not saying the two people can go though at the same time unless your kids but I can go up with both hands full of shopping bags and not touch the bench or wall without twisting or adjusting my position . So to answer that question there is way enough space and this are the dimensions  {the space there is 44 inches wide and the bench only takes 13in of it so with that said there is enough space .I Hope that helps =).

Oh im so in love with this knobs they are this crystal mercury glass knobs with a vintage Crome design . I wish I could find more but I haven't been that lucky yet , since this a found at HomeGoods one day and I graved them thinking I'm going to need them some day and well I did .I love how different look it gives to a plain dresser it gives it a more expensive look to a pice that it is not . I get so giddy with the small changes that makes a big difference , don't you ??

I love this print my sister got them for me because she saw them on a website and she immediately taught of me . Thank you sis your the best I love them as well they bring also that settle pop of color I wanted in this space.

The bench !! umm do you remember the black and white stripe bench I had well this is it with a new more settle look I still wanted to have a bit of print and fun and I found this amazing curtains at Kohls  a few years back and I had them in storage since I didn't know where to put them so I found a great way to use them by making once of the panel my new bench fabric {the fabric is a a thick durable fabric is also water resistant }.

I stared with wanting this Caitlin Wilson pillows but I as surprise to found out that they discontinue them so after searching high and low with no luck my mum came to the rescue with 4 yards of this beautiful fabric that honestly didn't have a name on she got it from a discount fabric store so I asked her if she count possibly make me some pillows out of them and she happily agreed and made me 2 pillows and my sister the other two . Thank you mum I love my pillows !!

So far & whats coming

    Is been a while since I've posted anything in here there has been a lot of new things in our life good and bad but most of all good .

             

    1. We are still in the same house {rental} do to a lot of problems with the developers and contractors of the home we where trying to build also we have had a change in job and needed to stay put for a little while .

    2. We are still moving because the owner of this house is still trying to set the house so right now we are in borrow time with him.


    3. Summer stared and all kids are home but soon they will all be going to school yes all 3 of them . Time really flies I can't believe I have 3 school age kids already


  4. Talking about school ill be going to school myself to further my education this year , I'm very exited and scared at the same time


  5. My husband and I will have our 10th year anniversary this October wow times does fly.

  7.there are still tons of projects we have worked on and will be working on that I will be posting about .


 8. This blog will be going on a different direction since before was all about diy don't get me wrong I will be posting diy projects here and there but I will also try to incorporate so other content that interest me since this blog is to reflect me

Needless to say I'm very exited for this new chapter in my life and I can't wait to share it ..

Sequin hangers

I interrupt your usual programing in this case the patio and deck progress to bring a little 10 mins diy ..

A few months ago i saw an image circulation on pinterest of a gold sequin hanger i tough to my self "oh that is so girly and cute i must try " but i never got around to it .. until yesterday i went out to find my little girl a dress for our vow renewal yup can you believe that !! we are renewing our vows !!! ha we made a commitment that every 10 years we should so here is to that ..Any how when i got home i didn't want to hang her dress in her closet since she loves pulling things out of there to tray them 7 times a day and no I'm not exaggerating  so i though why not put it as a display dress on the hook she has behind her bedroom door until that big day .

Then i did but the hangers she had were plain white and just blah and the again i tough why not do the sequin hanger that I've been thinking of doing for so long ..{yes a lot of thinking in this post lol }.

So i stared with a few hangers i had that came with stuff that i recently bough and were going to go to the recycle bin and i decided to use those ..

hot glue gun

I dapped a little glue where it need to be dapped ,,

then i stared rolling the sequin trimming all around it .

And ta da,,,oh and since i thought that hers looks so cute i did one for me as well ... ahha

Btw this dress is almost the same exact dress ill be wearing just her is more of a kid style ...and i love that will be matching for this day ..

easy peasy  ..and until next time ,,,

Ps:we have made some advantages on the deck and home will be bringing an update of that soon..

hubs surprised me with...

For a few years now I've been wanting a place to call my own  other than my studio /office but other things always take priorities sometimes and well thats okay . so since last week we stopped working n the china cabinet {long story short we are not re building it as right now we had to put a stop on that project because like i said before there is other priorities } with that said last week i asked my hubs if he could make me a little shelve for above my vanity area and i was sure that he would say no since we have 99 projects and that aint one lol  so i went out to tar jay  and an hour later when i came back home he already had the whole thing ready to put up..{isn't he the sweetest thing ever }




Number one step he tried to find the studs and idk but in this house is so hard to find studs where they are support to be ... does that happen in your house  or mine is just the oddball . ??

Any 6 hours later .... just kidding  ....he anchor some L brackets to the studs to give it the support of the shelve and what ever i was going to put up ..{witch by the way a week later and i don't know  what to put up there that won't look bad }

Now with a separate pice of wood on top of the one bracket since we couldn't find on the mess we call our garage the laser leveler he did it the old fashion way a long straight pice of wood a regular leveler and a pencil to mark the spot for the next L bracket after he found the second stud..

And tada,......!!. all done .. well almost i war some cool lights to cover the backers and of course to give me extra light but i just don't know yet since everything is if not to small to big ..so wish me luck ..

Annalia's room updates

Well since we are not moving anymore for at least two years i finally decided to make this our hem fro the time being and the owner give us thumbs up on the whole changing this up witch is great .. like the boys rom our little girls room is lacking on the wall department .. so i decided to do something about it last weekend .

She loves girly things and polka dots of course make that cut but i honestly didn't want to buy anything that i cant easily take off later so i went onto my craft closet looking for something to use and i found this wall stickers from target but well there were not exactly polka dots but i knew i could work with them ..

To be able to get a few polka dots i use this hole puncher/cuter thing that i found at Michael's fro less than 15.00 buckaroos a while back also i uses a coupon and i got it for about 8 dollars witch HELLO was a lot better than 15 bahha.

i opened the package and this is what they look like half a circle  and well i could of put two together and made a circle but they were way too big like that  so i stared cutting two circles per half a circle of the sheet .

Next step was o stick them to the wall witch was super easy ... {note : i only did it to one side of the wall as well as some surroundings since i have other plans for the other side of the room ..}

Home Tour : Boys room

Cheers to the weekend ...!! well this post was support to be yesterdays news but i had to run some errands as well as my oldest had a play in school and well we had to go see our CAT IN THE HAT  in the play called "this is a catastrophe " it was a comedy  and we laugh our socks off .. 

Anyhow today i would like to show our boys bedroom so sit back and enjoy a photo heavy post ;)

So this is the view of their room from the top conner of the room where their dressers are ..

This pillows were so much fun to make since my kids chose the fabrics ...
Btw the sheets are curtesy of my beautiful mother .. and the blue and green reversible bedding are from Kohls  about 2 years ago but just recently i took them put of their package for use .

This awesome leather pouf I'm so addicted to them i think i have one in every room of my house {not kitchen bathrooms or dinning room } but seriously how amazing are they ! ...,{Ive have been wanting to open a store on etsy for a long time now what do you think if we sell some of this ??}

Now this is the side of the room that you come in from the hallway and other part of the house and those two doors lead to their closet  and if you want to see that let me know..

Their bedroom is lacking on wall decor because two reasons ... i dont like the paint color since is the same one we rented the house with and two because i haven't found the right arts for them if anyone have any ideas on wall color or art please i would love to hear them .. thank you.

 This is their toy conner yes they do have a playroom but here in this awesome trunk that by the way has two drawers underneath and i found this from less than 200.00 buckaroos at my happy place aka HomeGoods .Well this is were they keep their most love toys , special collections and so on  also that red basket was found at HomeGoods and it holds their most love stuffed animals and underneath is their humidifier that is correctly out of order since it hasn't been dry around here for a few months now { after this pictures were taken the humidifier when down to the storage room until further needs } oh btw those mennions there are actually 2 of them and the boys won them recently at a school fair . The woody pillow is my oldest son pillow since he was a day old was a gift from the hospital he was born in and he has never part from it since . Curtains were also a HomeGoods find about 8 months ago and last but not least that little pendant was made by my oldest son all by himself with things he found at the beach were his grandparents live.

Drift wood and some shells  were all finds from the beach fishing thread and beads are all from Oma's and Opa's  house {grandma and grandpa in German }.
he was so proud of himself as well as we were he did an amazing job and he wanted to hang it somewhere he could see it everyday and well whats better than in his own bedroom right?.

This is the view from the hall connecting the boys room , Annaliah's room ,linen closet , kids bathroom and living room . with their lights off ..and only their party lights on witch i would like to thank my parents for those awesome bluetooth speakers they are similar to the old lava laps but with water and lights and the kids move them .. so thank you..
